Astoria is the town at the mouth of the Columbia River.  Astoria is a working town with the focus on the river and the ocean.  Fishing and shipping are the main activities here.

Astoria is known as the place where Lewis and Clark found the Pacific Ocean.   Lewis and Clark left St. Louis, Missouri on an expedition to explore the Louisiana Purchange.  They made it to the Pacific Ocean.  After spending a winter here, they returned east.
